Aaliyah Ross was born and raised in Rock Island, Illinois. She grew up attending church and currently attends Homewood Evangelical Free church in Moline. Aaliyah has always loved volunteering and working with a team. Her favorite volunteering opportunity has always been Vacation Bible School at her church. Each summer she has enjoyed putting together activities for the kids and ensuring their experience at VBS is one to remember! Aaliyah finished her first year of college at Augustana. She plans to transfer to Grand Canyon University where she will study Elementary Education to Secondary Education with an emphasis in English. 

Aaliyah was searching for the opportunity to be a Christian  camp counselor when family members recommended Camp Summit to her after highlighting their positive experience.

Camp Counselor is only the beginning, Aaliyah aspires to be a great teacher and mentor to those younger than her. She wanted to create a lasting impact in people’s lives! 

We have no doubt she will have a great impact on the kids at Camp this year and we thank God for her willingness and desire to love and teach the kids at Camp Summit this year! 

Fun fact: Aaliyah loves the flute and has been playing since she was in 4th grade!
