ANDREW NTAHIMPERA

Camp Summit Counselor/Children's Specialist

PARTNER WITH ME

Hey everyone! My name is Andrew Ntahimpera, and I’m from Chicago, Illinois. I recently graduated from Moline High School, and I plan to attend college to study Mechanical Engineering. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball and reading.

I’ve been involved with Camp Summit since 2016 after first hearing about it through YouthHope. Since then, camp has become such an important part of my life and faith journey. Over the last three years, I’ve had the opportunity to serve as a CIT (Counselor in Training), and those experiences helped prepare me for this next step.

The reason I wanted to become a counselor this year is because I felt God calling me to step into leadership and serve as a role model for children and teens. After spending the past few summers learning and growing as a CIT, I knew it was time to step into a bigger role and use what God has taught me to pour into others.

This summer, I’m looking forward to seeing lives changed and building new friendships and connections with campers. I’m excited to walk alongside them, encourage them, and help create an environment where they can grow in their faith.

My hope for this summer is that every camper has the opportunity to experience God’s wonderful creation and feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in a real and powerful way. I pray that camp is a place where they can encounter God, build lasting memories, and leave with a deeper understanding of His love.
