Hi! My name is Lindsey McIlveen, and I’m from Brookfield, Wisconsin, just outside of Milwaukee. I attend Emmaus University in Dubuque, Iowa, where I’m studying Bible Theology and Counseling Psychology, with a minor in Educational Ministries. I’m currently a sophomore and also play volleyball for Emmaus. In my free time, I enjoy painting, hiking, photography, and taking naps.
This is my first year serving at Camp Summit. As a kid, I attended a different summer camp, so I know firsthand how impactful camp can be. I first heard about Camp Summit through Amos and Ester’s visit to Emmaus during our Christian Ministries Seminar. Through that experience, I felt the Lord beginning to redirect my original career plans and shift my heart toward youth ministry.
The Lord gave me the opportunity to serve with my youth group back home, and through that experience, I was able to see Him move in powerful ways. It sparked a passion in me to serve youth on a larger scale and to be part of helping young people grow in their faith and understanding of Christ.
This summer, I am most looking forward to seeing how the Lord changes lives. I can’t wait to witness the ways He works in the hearts of each camper. My prayer is that every camper experiences the love of Christ through His revelation and through the staff serving alongside them. I also pray that the impact of this summer doesn’t end when camp does, but that each camper can look back on their time at Camp Summit and clearly see the faithfulness of God in their lives.
